* Midnattens Widunder (1999)
(The Monster of Midnight)
Midnattens Widunder (English: The Beast(s) of Midnight) is a folk metal album by the Finnish band Finntroll. It was released in Finland in 1999 by Spinefarm.
The album is notable for being the first full-length album released by Finntroll, and is the closest thing to a black metal album the band has ever created, featuring a less folk-influenced and more raw style that eventually subsided in the band's later works.
Storyline
The lyrical content of this album follows a continuous storyline, detailing the legendary Troll-King Rivfader, who leads an army of trolls and goblins to destroy the world of humans. This ongoing story shows the influence of classical opera, which is also seen in the music of certain songs, such as Svartberg. The lyrics contain some anti-Christian themes, but given the context they are not to be taken seriously- among other things, they are also "anti-human", being written from the perspective of trolls.

* Jaktens Tid (2001)
(Time of the Hunt)
Jaktens Tid (English: The Time of the Hunt) is a folk metal album by the Finnish band Finntroll. It was released in 2001 by Spinefarm Records.
The album itself is considered by many fans of the band as their best, featuring a mix of folk and Viking metal aspects, such as traditional joik singing.
There is a bonus song on the final outro track: after approximately a minute of silence, a drunken-sounding polka-type song begins. It features acoustic guitars, keyboards, indiscernable yelled vocals, and a number of other unidentifiable instruments and sound effects.
The song "Vargtimmen" is an unlikely cover from the folk music band Hedningarna's album Trä.

* Visor om Slutet (2003)
(Songs about the End)
x
Visor om Slutet (English: Songs of the end) is an all-acoustic folk metal album by the Finnish band Finntroll. It was released in 2003 by Spinefarm.
Visor om Slutet was released after a number of misfortunes befell several band members, including the death of guitarist Teemu Raimoranta whom the album is dedicated to. It was recorded in a cabin off in the woods near Helsinki, and coined as an "acoustic experiment," and features the use of tradionally non-metal instruments such as the kazoo. Though quite different in its sound to the Viking metal-inspired Jaktens Tid, the album was a relative success.

* Nattfödd (2004)
(Nightborn)
Nattfödd (English: Nightborn) is a folk metal album by the Finnish band Finntroll. It was released on April 19, 2004 by Century Media.
Nattfödd marks a change in the musical direction of Finntroll, as they drift into a slightly slower, less frenzied sound that is reminiscent of some songs from their first album, Midnattens Widunder. It also incorporates some of the acoustic and ambient elements from their previous album, Visor om Slutet, though is largely a return to the band's black and folk metal roots.
[edit] Track listing
1. "Vindfärd / Människopesten" (Wind Journey / The Human Plague) – 5:36
2. "Eliytres" – 3:46

* Ur Jordens Djup (2007)
(From the Depths of the Earth)
Ur Jordens Djup (From the Depths of the Earth) is the fifth full-length Finntroll album. It was released on March 28, 2007. The album is the first to feature vocalist Mathias Lillmåns, who replaced Tapio Wilska in 2006. Unlike in Nattfödd, the lyrics for this album were written by the band's original vocalist, Jan 'Katla' Jämsen [1].
This and other factors appear to contribute to a darker, more trollish black metal feel.
A music video for Nedgång was released in April.
Concept
The band approached the founding member Katla about writing the lyrics for this album. He chose to continue a semi-mythical saga which has been touched upon throughout Finntroll's career. The "kingshaman of the trolls" character Rivfader ("Ripfather" or "Scratchfather") was first introduced in their first demo of the same name (re-recorded for Midnattens Widunder), but Katla has said that the story truly originated in the song Födosagan on the second album, Jaktens Tid. The song Elityres, from Nattfodd, also makes reference to the Rivfader.
Aside from this, the lyrical concept for this album was based on Nordic myths, the Kalevala (the Finnish national epic), history and stories of Katla's own creation. He has stated that the focus has moved from conflict between pagan and Christian beliefs, to being more concerned with the nature of myth, symbolism, and the origin of all mythology. This is meant to compliment the old-and-new dynamic of the musical aspect of Finntroll, which mixes traditional folk music with very modern metal music.
The narrative of the album itself concerns a struggle between witches and troll-shamans, the death and resurrection of the Rivfader, the "journey and odyssey of the shaman" and the "great war against one-self".
