Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2 (1988)
Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 2 is the third album by the German power metal band Helloween, released in 1988. The album capitalized on the success of part one and picks up where part one left off. Michael Weikath starts to come back into the picture as one of the premier songwriters in the band writing some of the most popular tracks to date. The album is one of the most influential metal albums of all time, and really shows off the band's talent during this period. Success bloomed all over Europe, Asia and even the United States. The singles for the album were "Dr. Stein" and "I Want Out". "I Want Out" has been covered by Gamma Ray, Hammerfall, LORD and Sonata Arctica.
The album starts off with a short instrumental Invitation. The second track, Eagle Fly Free (a typical power metal track with melodic vocals and an anthemic chorus), became a trademark of the band after this album. You Always Walk Alone is a song written by Michael Kiske, then a new member of the band. Rise And Fall is more a classic metal-sounding song played at breakneck speed and comical lyrics.
Dr. Stein was the first single of the album. It has a very long and moody solo, played with a blues tinge, very unlike other solos in the album as well as an organ solo. We Got The Right is the sole power ballad of the album. Save Us and March of Time were written by founder Kai Hansen. The album features the song I Want Out which remains one of the band's most popular songs. It was also the second single released off the album. This song was written again by Kai Hansen, and it's rumored to have to do with how he felt about Helloween, that maybe the band wasn't his anymore.[citation needed] The song's glam metal leanings are evident with the lyrical theme, the music as well as the promotional video.[citation needed] The title track is the longest song of the album.

Pink Bubbles Go Ape (1991)
Pink Bubbles Go Ape is the fourth album by the German heavy metal band Helloween, released in 1991. It marked the departure of guitarist Kai Hansen and the first recording of Helloween with Roland Grapow on guitars. Musically it was written with a softer, less epic, and sometimes humorous approach, which would be later fully implemented in Chameleon.
The track Heavy Metal Hamsters was written about their record company and was, according to Michael Weikath, never intended to be on the album, but rather, as a B-side. A lack of material changed this matter, however.
Track listing
1. "Pink Bubbles Go Ape" (Kiske) – 0:36
2. "Kids of the Century" (Kiske) – 3:51

Chameleon (1993)
Chameleon is the fifth album by Helloween, released in 1993. It is their most musically adventurous, but also their least commercially successful.
Background
Tensions within the band resulted in an album that is highly eclectic in terms of its musical aesthetics, to the point that it has been rejected by some fans as not being a Helloween album at all. This position is taken based on the concept that Helloween were only, and should only, ever be a metal band, a concept this album problematises.
Having failed to live up to the standard of Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part 1, Keeper Of The Seven Keys Part 2 and the preceding Pink Bubbles Go Ape in commercial (and some would say artistic) terms, Chameleon abandoned almost all elements of the power metal sound that the band had been instrumental in creating, and can be seen as an attempt to garner success in wider musical avenues like synthesizers, horns, acoustic guitars, the childrens chorus of the Orchester Johann Sebastian Bach, violin, church organ, country music, grunge and swing, with participation of musicians like Stefan Pintev and Axel Bergstedt. The success was not to happen however, and vocalist Michael Kiske left after the subsequent promotional tour. Helloween then recruited vocalist Andi Deris from Pink Cream 69 and continued in a direction more akin to their earlier works. Nonetheless Chameleon has achieved a cult status among some fans in recent years, who praise its esoteric artistic merits.
The atmosphere of the album is closer to progressive rock, with some pop elements, than power metal. It's arguable that these elements had always been a part of Helloween's sound, but were not the elements most celebrated by the bands core heavy metal audience. Chameleon was the first and last time these diverse influences would make it to the front of Helloween's sound. In terms of production, this is arguably the most accomplished album of the Michael Kiske era, with an epic sound full of different stylistic influences. In recent years, some fans have conceded that Chameleon is a good progressive rock album, but cannot and should not be enjoyed as a power metal album, like the band's earlier and later works.

The Time of the Oath (1996)
The Time of the Oath is the seventh album by Helloween. The album is dedicated to the memory of former drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg, who committed suicide the previous year.
Concept
The Time of the Oath is a concept album. It is, according to Andi Deris, based on the prophecies of Nostradamus, referring to the prophecies made for the years 1994 to 2000. Nostradamus' interpreters believe that he predicted a third World War followed by a millennium of peace if humans made the right choices. The album is meant to reflect the choices of humanity. The Keeper that appears on this album, having returned from the first two Keeper of the Seven Keys albums and later to return on the third, could represent God, or the stupidity of humanity in the form of the seventh trooper in the song "Before the War."[1] Instead of a space scene as on the cover of Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 1, the area under the Keeper's hood is filled with stars and a line of golden rings, in the fashion of Master of the Rings. The track "The Time of the Oath" is reflecting the final of the book Faust Part Two, of the famous escritor Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Andi Deris has the part of the devil, reclaiming the soul of doctor Faust, whereas the chorus of Johann Sebastian Bach (Conductor Axel Bergstedt) is singing the Dies irae from the traditional requiem, representing the angels rescuing the lost soul.

Rabbit Don't Come Easy (2003)
Rabbit Don't Come Easy is the tenth album by the German power metal/heavy metal band Helloween. It is something of a return to the roots for the band. Rabbit Don't Come Easy combines many old classic Helloween elements with newer sounds and a modern production.
No drummer is listed in the band line-up for this album. Mark Cross was hired for the position before recording, but only managed to complete two tracks ("Don't Stop Being Crazy" and "Listen to The Flies") before being forced to leave through illness. Mikkey Dee of Motörhead played on the rest of the songs on a session basis. The Japanese version contains a cover of Accept's "Fast as a Shark," with the band's new drummer, Stefan Schwarzmann.
About the album title, bassist Markus Grosskopf explained in 2003 thet "It's based on that English saying, pulling a rabbit out of the hat. Pulling this rabbit [the album] out of this hat [in reference to recent line up changes] wasn't that easy this time. That gave us the idea of just calling the album 'Rabbit Don't Come Easy'. [Laughs] It's not to be taken too seriously. We were joking that statement around, and then I suggested we actually call the album that". [1]
About the recording of the album, singer Andy Deris said in 2003 that producer Charlie Bauerfeind "shows on this new record that he is the biggest fan of our genre of music because he knows how to separate the frequencies and knows where the power has to be. You have to imagine that this type of music is so packed with frequencies that it is nearly impossible to mix because it is so overloaded and you have to single out all of the instruments so you can hear them all". [2]
After the controversial release of The Dark Ride, according to Grosskopf, "The record company also wanted us to show that were are back. This song Just a Little Sign represents the more typical side of Helloween, and that's what we wanted to make clear. You can't really represent a whole album with one track, but this shows exactly where the album actually goes. It's more of that 'happy happy Helloween' direction. It shows that this album is not a sequel to 'The Dark Ride'". [3]

Keeper of the Seven Keys
The Legacy (2005)
Keeper of the Seven Keys – The Legacy is the eleventh studio album by German power metal band Helloween, released October 31, 2005. The musicians, Andi Deris (vocals), Michael Weikath (guitar), Markus Grosskopf (bass), Sascha Gerstner (guitar) and new addition Dani Löble (drums, ex-Rawhead Rexx), see this recording in direct context with their 1987 and 1988 classics Keeper Of The Seven Keys parts I and II. The album is a double CD with nearly 80 minutes playing time and comes in a digipack with 6 flaps. Keeper of the Seven Keys - The Legacy leans more towards the genre of Progressive metal than the previous album, Rabbit Don't Come Easy, which was much more of a Power Metal album. It was produced by Charlie Bauerfeind (Blind Guardian, Halford, Rage) and features Blackmore's Night singer Candice Night on the track "Light The Universe".
