Lost Paradise (1990)
is the debut album of the heavy metal band Paradise Lost. It was released in 1990 by Peaceville Records and it features brutal, gloomy, very heavy and minimalistic death/doom metal style.

Gothic (1991)
Gothic is the second full-length album released by British metal band Paradise Lost.
It is a seminal work, being one of the major influences on the modern genres of doom metal (especially on the doom-death subjenre) along with albums such as Candlemass' Epicus Doomicus Metallicus and My Dying Bride's Turn Loose the Swans. Of particular note is the use of female vocals, rather more unusual in heavy metal at the time than it is today. The album is also considered as one of the first to whom can be applied the tag "gothic metal".

The 2003 re-release of this album appended two remixes of songs from Lost Paradise, bringing the total running time to 49 minutes and 30 seconds.

Remixed/live versions of "Eternal", "Gothic" and "The Painless" appear on the 2003 digipak re-release of Lost Paradise.

Shades of God (1992)
Shades of God is the third album by Paradise Lost. It incorporates use of growled vocals noticeable in the band's previous efforts although shows the beginning of the transition to a more 'clean' sound seen on the album 'Icon'. The song "As I Die" was released as a single, As I Die.

Draconian Times (1995)
Draconian Times (1995) is the fifth album released by British metal act Paradise Lost. This saw them stray further from their doom/death roots, but it was their most commercially successful and critically acclaimed album, reaching #16 in the album charts, and is viewed as their finest album by many of their fans. It saw them progress from their previous album Icon, which already showed the band creating more accessible albums, yet not losing their patented anger and force.
The track "Forever Failure", includes a sample of the voice of Charles Manson several times during the song. "The Last Time" and "Forever Failure" were released as singles.
This album is also cited as the pioneer for the gothic metal genre, and current bands such as Nightwish, Katatonia and Lacuna Coil claim to be avid fans of Paradise Lost.

One Second (1997)
One Second is the sixth album release by Paradise Lost.
Following Draconian Times, the album reflected the group's first complete departure from doom metal, and death metal in favor of a more synth rock and goth rock direction.
Despite the change in style, the album was highly regarded by most critics and gave the group significant exposure in North America.
It's Paradise Lost's first album recorded on digital format.

Paradise Lost (2005)
Paradise Lost, the tenth studio album by British heavy metal band Paradise Lost was recorded between January and June 2004 at Chapel Studios, Lincolnshire and Hollypark Lane, Los Angeles. Past touring partner Heather Thompson of Tapping the Vein contributed backing vocals on first single "Forever After" and album track "Over The Madness". The choir-like backing vocals on "Forever After" were performed by Leah Randi.

There are six bonus tracks that can be found through digipak versions of this album, bonus tracks versions, and the "Forever After" single CD. The tracks are "Through The Silence" and "Sanctimonious You". The string dub mixes of "Don't Belong" and "Over The Madness" are only available on the German digipak version of the album, which also contains the video for "Forever After". The UK release of Paradise Lost replaces the string dub mixes with the bonus tracks "Let Me Drown" and "A Side You'll Never Know".

In Requiem (2007)
In Requiem is Paradise Lost's eleventh studio album, again with Rhys Fulber on production duties. Published release dates (subject to change) include May 11th (Israel, associated with "The Metal Shop"), May 18th 2007 (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, and Italy), May 21st 2007 (U.K., France, Spain, Denmark, Norway, European countries not otherwise specified), May 23rd 2007 (Finland, Sweden, Hungary), and June 5 2007 in the U.S.[1][2]. Seth Siro Anton is responsible for the artwork, which can be seen here.
Nick Holmes has confirmed that 15 tracks have been recorded for the new album [3], including one cover.
A press release states, "The melancholic atmosphere is as oppressive as ever, but this go round the gloom is fused with an equal amount of dense, punishing riffs"[4].
The first single to be released from the album will be The Enemy [5].
The album was leaked onto the internet in its entirety on April 20, 2007.
The album is notable for featuring some harsher vocals by Nick Holmes, similar to the style he had on Icon. It's often said that this album mixes Paradise Lost's still doom-death resembling style from Icon and their melodic gothic metal sound seen in Draconian Times.

Trivia
The title for song "Praise Lamented Shade" comes after an essay on Criticism by Alexander Pope[1].
The song "Sedative God" was originally intended for the previous Paradise Lost album, but was never recorded at that time. That's the reason why it sounds much different from the rest of the album. It's also the oldest song of the album because of this.[2].
