* Undertow(1993)
Undertow is Tool's first full-length album, released in 1993. At the time, grunge was at the height of its popularity, and pop punk was slowly beginning to gather mainstream attention. Undertow helped heavy metal remain prominent as a mainstream musical style, and allowed several later bands to break through to the mainstream.[1] The All Music Guide sees the album's success in the "striking, haunting visuals that complemented the album's nihilistic yet wistful mood"[1] — it was eventually certified double platinum by the RIAA on May 14, 2001.[2]
The album was recorded between October and December 1992 at Grand Master Studios, Hollywood, California, by Sylvia Massy.

Others
* Tool a.k.a. 72826 demo(1991, Toolshed)
Tool is a self-released demo cassette EP by the band Tool. It was the first recording Tool ever produced as a band. This demo tape is also known as 72826 (which corresponds to the word "Satan" spelled out on a phone keypad). It was recorded and released in 1991. The demo was originally intended to be sent to labels to get the band a contract, but the band apparently was so pleased with the result it sold copies to fans as well.
Much like Salival, this has become a rare collector's item, and an original copy would now be worth a sum entirely disproportionate to its original price. The demo tape has also circulated the internet simply under the name "Toolshed".

* Opiate EP (1992)Opiate is an EP by the American rock band Tool. Released in 1992, it followed some two years of playing together after their formation in 1990, and preceded their first full-length album, Undertow, by a year. It yielded two singles, "Hush" and "Opiate". It is named after a quote by Karl Marx: "Religion [...] is the opium of the masses."[1] Opiate was certified platinum by the RIAA on April 1, 2005.

* Salivalbox set (2000)
Salival was a limited edition box set in CD/VHS and CD/DVD formats released in 2000 by alternative metal band Tool. It includes a 56-page book of photos and stills from their music videos. As the box set has now been out of print for some time, it can only be found secondhand, usually at a price disproportionate to its original recommended retail price. As VHS has now become obsolete, the DVD version tends to retail for a higher price as it is in higher demand.
The track "You Lied" is a cover of a song by bass player Justin Chancellor's previous band Peach. The cover of Led Zeppelin's "No Quarter" was originally recorded for the soundtrack of Private Parts, but Tool subsequently decided against allowing it to be used, leading to criticism from Howard Stern, who had previously endorsed the band.
The front of the booklet included with the package has a small glossy square on its front. There is speculation that the square represents an acid blotter. A simpler explanation would be that the square helps identify the front of the booklet from the back. Yet another explanation would refer to the title of the package, which was supposedly put out to satisfy fans of the band who were salivating over new material. Thus, the shiny square would represent a single drop of saliva. Live versions of "Pushit" and "Third Eye" (off the album Ænima) appear on this box set. The song "Merkaba" was originally the instrumental intro for the song Sober when played live.
As with other releases, there were rumors during the Salival period. Most notably, the band was said to be breaking up.[1][2] Maynard James Keenan said, "we mentioned some song titles and some dickhead went out and reserved all of the dot.com and dot.org names."
