Versus the World is the fourth full-length studio album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Amon Amarth, released on November 18, 2002 by Metal Blade Records. It was also released with a bonus disc featuring the Sorrow Throughout the Nine Worlds EP as well as their two demos; Thor Arise, The Arrival of the Fimbul Winter (the first being unreleased before) and a German version of "Victorious March" entitled "Siegreicher Marsch" which was on Once Sent from the Golden Hall. Many fans and critics consider it the band's best album.

When asked to comment on the album, Johan Hegg the vocalist remarked:-
“ This is the darkest, heaviest and most melancholic album we've ever done and the atmosphere can be felt through the whole album. I would say it's the most even album we've done so far and that the concept can be recognized in every song. „

2004 Fate of Norns Metal Blade
Fate of Norns is the fifth full-length studio album by the melodic death metal band Amon Amarth, released on September 6, 2004 by Metal Blade Records. This album continued their slower, heavier sound which started on the previous album Versus the World. Before Fate of Norns was officially released by Metal Blade, promo copies were distributed with CD-ROM extras including pictures, biographies, sheets and logos. The album was released in conventional LP format as well as a limited digipak edition. The latter includes a live bonus DVD, Amon Amarth Live at Grand Rokk, which features live recordings and three-camera footage of a live performance in Reykjavík, Iceland on March 5, 2004. "The Pursuit of Vikings" was also made into a music video.
When asked to comment on the album, lead vocalist Johan Hegg, remarked:
“ The sound is more mature than on previous albums. I think the foundation for this sound started when we changed studios from Abyss to Berno when we got to working with Berno Paulsson. We improved the sound a lot for this album. We were able to make all the instruments work better together and still make them prominent one by one in the production as well. We were also able to keep the heaviness and brutality we need to be Amon Amarth. „
—Johan Hegg

2006 With Oden on Our Side Metal Blade
With Oden on Our Side is the sixth full-length studio album by the Swedish Viking metal/melodic death metal band Amon Amarth, and the first one, which entered the Billboard charts, the Top Heatseekers and the Top Independent Albums, peaking at #15 and #26 respectively. [1]
It was recorded in May and June 2006 and was released in Europe on September 22, 2006 by Metal Blade Records. A limited edition release was also made which has a second disc that includes live songs, demos and unreleased recordings. The album was also released on a limited red LP. The songs "Runes to My Memory" and "Cry of the Black Birds" were both made into music videos.
On the album cover behind Odin, there are three overlapped triangles (valknut), they refer to the Germanic Alamanni tribe's flag insignia, which originally had a turquoise-like background, with the triangles a crimson-red and outlined with black. Also on the cover, the font seen on the sides of the triangles show ancient Runic letters that were used by Germanic tribes. Noting this, the album cover has a strong relation to the Dark Age warring tribes.
The album takes on a heavier approach compared to their previous album Fate of Norns: according to vocalist Johan Hegg, in an interview with Dutch metal magazine Aardschok, this album would go back to their roots like their debut album Once Sent from the Golden Hall.
When asked about the meaning of the album's title, the lead vocalist Johan Hegg, remarked:
“ Well, it kind of has several meanings to it. Oden is of course the highest god in Scandinavian mythology, and he's the god of warfare, wisdom, poetry and artistry. The reason we chose the title is that it suited the lyrical concepts of the album and signified the feeling we had during the writing and recording of the album. We literally felt as if we had the Gods on our side. „

2. Runes To My Memory
